Visit the Polls Tuesday to Sign the Petition for a City Audit
I’m keeping a promise, and maybe you can help, too.
A special note: If you’re interested in volunteering to help on Tuesday, even an hour would be appreciated 🙂. It might give the organizers a chance to grab a quick bite to eat or take a much-needed break. Or I’m sure they’d be happy just to chat, too. If you’re interested, please leave your name in the comments.
Not long before I quit writing articles about the City of Willard’s wild political scene, I promised the folks who organized the petition drive that I would help promote their first major event to gather signatures. They need 386 signatures for the Missouri State Auditor to be able to initiate an audit of the City.
This Tuesday, April 2, the ladies and their audit petition will be alternating between both Willard polling locations—the Willard Community Center and the First Baptist Church. So if you live within the city limits of Willard and are out voting for school board candidates or for mayor, consider giving them your signature. And if you don’t see them at one polling location, just look for their sign and balloons at the other. The polling locations are 1/2 a mile apart. They’ll be in the parking lot, somewhere outside the electioneering zone.
For questions or for more information about the audit petition, and for the latest updates on Tuesday’s weather to make sure signing opportunities are still scheduled, follow the Citizen Group - City of Willard on Facebook.
Thank you, Willard!
