Clever is also going thru a scandal right now that exploded Tuesday night when the accusations were finally leveled at a rogue alderman. Man, I wish I could show you the video. It was wild!!!

The short version: An alderman started digging into a city employees time spent doing fire calls and EMT calls while on city time. Mind you, Clever is a small community and the people who work for the city wear many hats. The alderman was harassing the employee for records of those calls instead of speaking with his supervisor about the issue (which no one has an issue with except the alderman) and finally he quit. He knows so much about the infrastructure of the city and its people, its a huge loss to the community. Consequently, the alderman owns a daycare in town which they shut down on a Friday evening with no notice to parents that they were doing so and it left a lot of people in town in a lurch to find daycare before the Monday.
The long version: What this alderman and their minion on the board have also done is so branched out and complicated, I could never put it all down.
Needless to say, that meeting was so wild. I was really proud of my hometown coming together for one of our own.
